❄️ January Safety Tip of the Month: Winter Slip, Fall & Cardiac Safety
Cold weather increases the risk of slips, falls, and cardiac emergencies. January is the perfect time to refresh a few simple but life-saving habits.
Stay safe this winter by remembering to:
👟 Wear shoes or boots with good traction when walking on snow or ice (balance exercises at home can help prevent a fall on ice)
🧂 Salt walkways and entrances early — especially before temperatures drop overnight
❤️ Take breaks during cold-weather activities like shoveling snow
🫀 Know the signs of a heart attack and call 911 immediately if symptoms appear (chest pain, dizziness, GI upset, jaw/shoulder pain, heart palpitations…)
🚑 Make sure you know where the nearest AED is located at work or in public spaces (download PulsePoint AED for a map of Geagua County’s nearest AEDs)
Cold temperatures put extra strain on the heart — being prepared can save a life.
Winter emergencies happen fast. CPR and AED training gives you the confidence to respond when it matters most — our Community CPR, AED & First Aid class in Chardon is coming up soon.
📅 Date: January 29th, 2026
⏰ Time: 6:00 - 8:00 PM
📍 Location: Chardon, Ohio
If your CPR certification has expired — or you’ve never taken a class before — this is a great opportunity to get trained locally and confidently.
“This was my first time taking an in-person CPR class. I learned so much and feel more confident to take action in an emergency situation. Sarah was patient, helpful, and answered all of my questions. Thank you!”
Together, we can save lives. Stay safe and warm this winter!
Yours in safety,
