Today is National Wear Red Day for Women’s Cardiovascular Health, a reminder of how serious heart disease remains for women—and how much of a difference everyday people can make.
❤️ Why red matters
Heart disease is the leading cause of death among women in the U.S. Sudden cardiac arrest can happen anywhere, to anyone. When it does, immediate CPR and early AED use can double or even triple survival rates.

🫀 What you can do today
Wear red to show your support for women’s heart health awareness
Learn (or refresh) CPR and AED skills
Encourage your family, coworkers, and community to be prepared
Know your numbers (cholesterol, LP(a), calcium scoring, Carotid U/S, and whatever tests your primary physician/cardiologist recommends)
Know the symptoms of a potential heart attack (new onset of chest, shoulder, or back discomfort, shortness of breath, dizziness, palpitations, etc)
You don’t have to be a medical professional to save a life. You just need the confidence and training to act when it matters most.
If you’ve been thinking about getting trained—or updating an expiring certification—we have a Community CPR & First Aid class coming up in Willoughby tomorrow February 7th and in Chardon on Thursday, February 26th. It’s a relaxed, hands-on class designed for real-world confidence, not just a card.
We’d love to have you join us.
Stay safe—and thanks for helping keep our community heart-healthy. ❤️
Yours in safety,
Sarah Saefkow
